Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Welty mobile application ("Welty", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.

1. Service Description

Welty is a local-first personal finance forecasting app. You enter income sources, expense items, savings accounts, and financial goals; the app projects future balances, estimates when goals are reached, and lets you run what-if simulations. All calculations are performed entirely on your device using data you provide.

2. Local-First & No Account Required

Welty does not require you to create an account. All your financial data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate servers that hold your personal financial data. You are solely responsible for maintaining and backing up your data.

3. Not Financial Advice

Welty is a personal forecasting tool, not a regulated financial advisor or financial planning service. The projections, simulations, and goal estimates generated by the app are mathematical models based on the data you enter. They are informational only. Welty does not constitute and should not be relied upon as financial, investment, tax, legal, or any other professional advice. All financial decisions are solely your own responsibility. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions.

4. Welty Pro — In-App Purchase

Welty offers a one-time lifetime upgrade ("Welty Pro") that unlocks the following features: • Unlimited profiles — create as many financial profiles as you need (e.g. personal, partner, shared, business). • Household overview — view all profiles combined in a single consolidated forecast. • Unlimited incomes, expenses & accounts — the free version allows a limited number of items per category; Pro removes all limits. • Export & Import — back up your full dataset to a file and restore it on any device. Purchase terms: • Payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. By purchasing you also agree to Apple's payment terms. • Price: as displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase. • No subscription, no recurring charges: Welty Pro is a single lifetime payment. • Restore purchase: restore your Pro entitlement for free via Settings → Restore purchase, using the same Apple ID as the original purchase. • Refunds: handled by Apple under their App Store refund policy. We do not issue refunds directly.

5. Backup & Data Portability

Welty Pro includes a backup export and import feature. Exported backup files (.wbak) contain all your financial data in a portable format. You are responsible for storing and securing your backup files. We are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, accidental deletion, or failure to maintain backups.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree not to: • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app. • Use the app for any unlawful purpose. • Circumvent or attempt to bypass In-App Purchase entitlement checks.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that: • The app will be free of errors or uninterrupted. • Forecasts or projections will be accurate or will reflect actual future outcomes. • The app will be compatible with all devices or operating system versions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to financial loss, data loss, or loss of savings, arising from your use of or reliance on the app or its forecasts.

9. Service Availability

Because Welty is a local-first app, its core forecasting functionality works entirely offline without any server dependency. We do not guarantee the availability of App Store purchase verification services, which are operated by Apple.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hungary.

11. Apple Inc. — App Store

Welty is distributed through the Apple App Store. The following terms apply with respect to Apple: • This agreement is solely between you and Farkas Sándor (the developer). Apple is not a party to this agreement. • Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support services with respect to Welty. • Apple is not responsible for any product liability claims, consumer protection claims, intellectual property infringement claims, or any other claims relating to Welty. • In the event of any third-party claim that Welty or your possession and use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, Apple will not be responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement or discharge of that claim. • You must comply with applicable third-party terms of service when using Welty (e.g. your mobile carrier's terms). • Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple will have the right to enforce this agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
