Welty ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Welty app handles, how it is stored, and your rights. Welty is a local-first personal finance forecasting app. All your financial data is stored exclusively on your device using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). We do not operate servers that hold your personal financial data.

2. Data We Collect

On-device financial data: income sources, expense items, savings accounts, financial goals, forecast settings, and profile names you enter in the app. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the backup export feature. App preferences: your chosen language, color theme, and display settings. Stored locally on your device. In-App Purchase receipt: if you purchase Welty Pro, Apple provides a purchase receipt which is verified against Apple's servers to confirm your entitlement. We receive only confirmation of purchase status — we never see or store your payment card details. No analytics or tracking: we do not collect usage analytics, crash reports, or any form of behavioral tracking.

3. How We Use Your Data

All financial data you enter is used solely to power the forecasting, simulation, and goal-tracking features within the app, entirely on your device. We do not sell, share, or transmit your financial data to any third party.

4. Third-Party Processors

Apple Inc. (apple.com) — In-App Purchase management and payment processing. When you purchase Welty Pro, Apple handles all payment transactions. We send the purchase receipt to Apple's verification API only to confirm your entitlement. We never receive or store your payment details. 5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For all financial data you enter (incomes, expenses, accounts, goals, and settings), we act solely as local on-device storage. This data is never transmitted to us, so we are not a data controller in the GDPR sense for it. For In-App Purchase receipt verification, we act as a limited data controller on the legal basis of contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). This processing is strictly limited to confirming your Pro entitlement via Apple's verification API — we do not receive or store your payment details.

6. Data Storage & Retention

All financial data is stored exclusively on your device. You can delete it at any time by resetting the app's data (Settings → Restore defaults) or by uninstalling the app. Backup files (.wbak) are created and stored on your device only when you explicitly trigger an export. You control where these files are shared or stored. Purchase entitlement status is stored locally on your device and separately under your Apple ID.

7. Data Portability & Backup

Welty Pro includes a backup and restore feature. You can export all your data as a .wbak file and import it on the same or a new device. This export is initiated entirely by you and the resulting file goes directly to your chosen destination (Files, iCloud, email, etc.) — it is never sent to our servers.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

Since your financial data lives exclusively on your device, you have full and direct control over it at all times. 9. Children

This service is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Not Financial Advice

Welty is a personal forecasting tool, not a financial advisor. The projections, simulations, and goal estimates generated by the app are mathematical models based on the data you enter. They are informational only and do not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making financial decisions.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
